Description
(20-24″ tall x 24-30″ wide) Blanca Peak™ White Penstemon (Penstemon strictus), named after the fourth highest peak in the Colorado Rockies, is a departure from the species’ usual blue and violet flowers. It’s an easy-to-grow beardtongue, and the late spring flowers make an arresting combination when planted with red-flowered Centranthus (Jupiter’s Beard or Valerian), yellow Achillea (Yarrow), and English Lavender. Spreading steadily via stolons to form large clumps, Penstemon strictus is one of the longest-lived, most easily grown of the Penstemons. A real showstopper! Cut off flowering spikes after bloom; leave a few if reseeding is desirable. Be the first to plant this award-winning white-flowered beardtongue, introduced by our Chief Horticulturist David Salman for 2021.
